Growing up in a family where addiction was prevalent, I experienced its profound impact firsthand, shaping my early years and transition into adulthood. Addiction, a complex presence, offers both solace and suffocation, particularly in moments of mental strain and personal turmoil. This piece delves into the dual nature of addiction—the comfort it provides alongside its negative grip and dependency. Through weaving, sewing, and intertwining various materials, I explore the intricacies of this relationship. White stoneware embodies my essence, while black symbolizes addiction's persona. This work aims to illuminate the often challenging and stigmatized reality of addiction, highlighting its widespread effects on individuals and families.
